Playing Small Moment
Jamie was crushed when an advisor in her department didn’t show up for the faculty meeting, which would have helped her along in becoming a Ph.D. candidate. After the initial sting wore off, she decided she would move away from Physics and into the study of law. She was accepted into six different law schools before being persuaded back into the Physics program.
The Wake Up Call
Jamie’s wake up call came almost a year after her daughter was born. Jamie and her husband were going through photos and realized most of their happiness came from their visits to Lake Tahoe―not from Silicon Valley. So, they just packed up and moved to Lake Tahoe.
